“All Join Hands” art sale with Agent Ali at the Vine Trust in Leith tonight. Contributed some art and did some projecting as part of Guerrilla Projections. Tried projecting across the water to the hull of the orange ship but didn’t factor in the powerful harbour lights (which aren’t on during the day and not obvious) pointing straight back at the projector. I also couldn’t get closer due to the water so couldn’t narrow the focus enough to just hit the hull – meaning half the image was lost above the hull or water. But it worked OK on the bus side as an alternative.

so I had a visit from the council lackeys yesterday who cautioned me for putting up images on public buildings. there is one in particular that both Out of the Blue and Edinburgh Council feel is misogynist. so today she was covered up.

the previous censoring was deemed “not sufficient”.

was out doing some guerilla projections last night – first up some great NASA footage from the space station – these are edits from crew movies shot as the space station circled the globe.

projections were shot around midnight on 8th July 2016 on an eerily deserted Portobello Promenade in Edinburgh.

this has been keeping me busy for the past 3 months so please check out the proof of concept movie for the Edinburgh Guerilla Projections – basically a high end projector mounted with portable power source onto a trike so images, animations and movies can be shown almost anywhere (as long as it is reasonably dark).

with only 2 days to finish the thing, the background stencil is done, and looks OK. in the middle of re-doing one eye so hopefully will hit the deadline – still a little wet.

image is of my mommy when she was younger and lived in Saudi, which was taken from an old skool black and white passport photo (which I can’t seem to find now).

it is crazy the volume, or glut, of photos we all produce now compared to our parents generation. I can hardly find any photos of me growing up but my daughter – I could create a stop motion movie of her entire life so far. The sharing, but not so caring, generation.
