Oh, whisper to me softly of working class thugs. I tell you solemnly, there is nothing so beautiful as the sight of a young hooligan doing irreparable damage to the knees of an ageing down-and-out with a homemade cosh, fashioned rudely from spare lead piping found in the back of Tomek’s transit van. So free. So spirited. They know not how beautiful they are, these youths, and so it is up to us to hymn them in song. I confess: I regularly trawl the aisles of Leith ASDA on a Saturday, cunningly disguised as Sir Peregrine Worsthorne, in order to eavesdrop on their conversations to generate material for my next marketing campaign. They do say the most fascinating things. “Aren’t eggs next to the baking aisle?” “Here, get that, those are two for one.” “Sorry, mate, is this on Rollback?” It is a richly bejewelled argot all of its own. But one, I fear, that is being swept away by the ceaseless immigrant tide.

swoon – dithyrambalina
Two of the available pieces feature Ice Queen, imagery featured in her installation now on view at LA MoCA’s “Art in the Streets” exhibition. Responding to the history of the site, Swoon has adhered Ice Queen prints to salvaged barge boards layered with 100’s of years old wallpaper from the 18th century Creole cottage that stood on the site where Dithyrambalina will be built.
Additionally, a Kickstarter campaign has been started to support the team of sound artists needed to build this house. This Fall they are prototyping singing walls, floorboard-operated horn sections, and percussive elements triggered by the human heartbeat. This Kickstarter campaign features two additional works of Swoon’s.

It shows the craftsmanship involved in art which has been lost today when a click can create so much and command Z can change it back in an instant.
OBEY me, wife
Shepard Fairey’s wife can’t keep a secret.
However if you were around when OBEY first hit the streets then his manifesto back then was that he wanted people to go out and put OBEY posters, pastes etc up all over the world so not so sure how big a secret she let slip?
what is your cloud solution? (thanks @Mike_McGrail)
BitNami, Cloud.com and Zenoss have released the results of its 2011 Cloud Computing Outlook survey. You can request a copy of the report here.
Only 20% respondents have no plans to develop a cloud computing strategy, but there was a clear preference for using dedicated hardware instead of public cloud infrastructure. Virtualization is very popular, and the biggest benefit respondents perceive in cloud computing was hardware savings.

fat freddy’s cat
Fat Freddy’s Cat is a fictional orange tomcat nominally belonging to Fat Freddy Freekowtski, one of the Freak Brothers, a trio of hippies who are featured in Gilbert Shelton’s underground comix. He first appeared in 1969 in underground newspapers as a character in The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers strip, and later had his own small topper strip,
Fat Freddy’s Cat has a fertile imagination, and one of his storylines featured him playing the role of “F. Frederick Skitty”, an undercover agent sworn to stop the distribution of “Tee Hee Hee”, a drug that turned people into homosexuals. In another story, one of Fat Freddy’s schemes involved trying to replicate Dick Whittington’s success by selling the Cat to the (fictional) small, oil-rich nation of Pootweet to deal with mice.
